Mortal men had nine in the grand design by the dark one in his tower

In the land of shadow, the skies are not kind
But the sands of time falling through the hourglass, ran for thousands of
years
Empire became ashes became dust
And the lord of evil, his reign of power past, vows he will reappear
Conquer and master he must
In the mountain gorges and the river waters, I could feel the world was changing
In the rocks and trees, and the forest breeze, a wicked force was waking
There were odd sensations and strange vibrations, my mind was filled with
doubt
I saw rain-clouds storming, and anger forming in the dark skies to the south

So prepare to bow to the shadow kingdom, and kiss your freedom goodbye

Listen to my story of an evil lord, who had a burning need to rule all
the lands
He hunted glory, and the end reward of supremacy was his demand
It all began when the rings of power were made for elves and dwarves and men
But then the whole damn thing turned sour when one last ring was forged again
So hear my warning
Don’t wear that ring on your finger
Keep it hidden, it’s best if you can
Beware for the shadow lingers
Within that precious band
The ring worn by the wicked lord was freed at last as the battle raged
As he lay fallen to a broken sword, the treasure passed to another’s
gaze
A riverbed to a mountain-lair, the owners changed throughout the years
Your uncle led by the magic there was prone to somehow disappear
So just remember
Don’t wear that ring on your finger
The evil eye still searches the land
Beware for the shadow lingers
Within that precious band
I understand what you say to me, the ring can’t stay so close
to home
I have a plan and I must be as far away as I can roam
I’ll travel on to a safer place, where there may be some hope in sight
I'm on the run in a frantic race, to cast this cursed ring aside

As the land we know watches us pass by
Over valleys green, we will travel light

I can’t see the road ahead, it’s like the forest won’t let

Until the green fields of the home-shire were now fading

We saw a dark shape standing on the shoreline waiting
There's an inn we had to find, with a pony on a sign
And it was here we met a ranger sent to guide us

Where we stood against the hooded, faceless riders

I can’t believe my eyes today, and I’m surprised what people
say
I thought I knew my friends but I was wrong, it seems that one was plotting
all along
I went walking in the woods alone, but I found I wasn’t on my own

He said, I’ll take this ring from you, I was afraid what he would do
He acted strangely, somebody save me
We thought our friend was lost somewhere, we turned around and he wasn’t

Captured and held like animals, by this gruesome band of criminals
It’s an injustice, somebody save us
Caught and controlled while you still cannot see
Resistance is futile, you’ll never break free from our sight

Orders received from our wizard almighty in white
I don’t know what came over me, a touch of greed and jealousy
The look of fear was in his face, then he was gone without a trace
And now this evil army’s closing in, as I gather my fighting strength

Wounded I face the enemy, is this my fatal destiny?

This battle is won though our losses were great
Their sword and their long bow sent messages straight to the heart
But a warrior slain and two captives as tokens
